Allied Gardens is part of the more affluent Del Cerro area of San Diego. Choose from a variety of home types from townhomes to cottages and ranch-style to 2-story homes with up to four bedrooms and any bed/bath combination that suits your needs. There are first-time buyer homes from 1,026 square feet up to spacious family homes of around 3,000 square feet. Some have been updated and remodeled, and some would make great starter homes or investment properties.
Allied Gardens is conveniently and centrally located with easy access to Interstates 8 and 15. Because of this locale, residents find themselves less than 20 minutes away from any downtown San Diego attraction including a multitude of shopping and dining selections, the San Diego Zoo, and SeaWorld San Diego. Take in a Chargers football game at Qualcomm Stadium or an event at San Diego State University’s Viejas Arena. Both are just minutes away.
Outdoor recreation is in your backyard, too, at Mission Trails Regional Park, which contains Lake Murray Reservoir. At these venues, choose from 60 miles of hiking trails, fishing, boating, picnicking, biking, kayaking, jogging and rollerblading or just bring a chair and enjoy the beautiful California sunshine. The community is primarily residential but does have a bustling business district on Waring Road where it borders neighboring Grantville.
There is a plethora of community activities for youth, teens, and adults at Allied Gardens Recreation Center. This facility includes meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, gymnasium, outdoor, lighted basketball courts and multi-purpose fields, and a large playground and picnic area. The recreation center also operates Allied Gardens Pool.
There are plenty of neighborhood parks within a reasonable distance, too, like Tuxedo on Tuxedo Road, Princess Del Cerro on Wenrich Drive, and Rancho Mission Canyon on Larchwood Avenue.
