Mission Beach Homes for Sale
Originally a community of small summer cottages, the community of Mission Bay has grown and many of the original homes have been torn down, expanded, or remodeled into condos. Prices remain high for waterfront properties, and the area has grown to be one of the most densely populated in San Diego.
Beachfront homes and condos remain highly desirable and Mission Beach real estate does not disappoint. Mission Beach and 92109 real estate is a popular choice in today's San Diego real estate market.
Due to the previously mentioned height restrictions imposed to protect the integrity of the area, you will find that most condos are in small complexes or in homes that have been remodeled into condos. Ocean Front Walk homes and condos are just what the name implies – they are oceanfront properties, often selling in the range of $750,000 up to millions of dollars.
Similarly, beachfront homes and condos facing Mission Bay along Bayside Walk also command high prices commensurate with the million dollar views. It is sometimes possible to find a beachfront condo fronting the Pacific Ocean for less than a million dollars, or along the Mission Bay front for less than $800,000, so be sure to check in with Jason Coriano and his team at Metro San Diego Realty, your San Diego waterfront real estate experts.
Mission Beach Real Estate & Local Attractions
Mission Beach is known for its clean sandy beach and boardwalks on both the Pacific and the Bay side. It is a very popular venue for walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, sunbathing or playing a game of volleyball on the sand. Rent a bike or if watersports or the ocean beckon, rent a surf board, boogie board or kayak and enjoy the water. Boats and jet skis are also available for rent.
Mission Beach’s mainstay entertainment spot is Belmont Park, which includes the Giant Dipper roller coaster, arcade games, tons of amusement rides, eateries and the always entertaining Wavehouse surf ride which allows people to surf on simulated waves. If you’re not much one for rides, you will still enjoy the exciting atmosphere, as you stroll along people watching, or perhaps stopping by one of the many boutiques and shops.
The Bahia Belle is a turn of the century sternwheeler paddleboat offering nighttime cruises around Mission Bay where you can enjoy live music while enjoying the awesome views of the bay, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. It’s an affordable way to entertain visitors or just to relax and enjoy yourself.
Between the water, the beach, the shops and the restaurants, there is always something to do in Mission Beach.
